Alumni members and retired staff of Morning Star Home Science College contributed an amount of Rs.50000/- to provide smartphones and data recharge to the needy students of UG courses to attend online classes. Data recharging was done regularly for 13 students and 6 smartphones were distributed. The beneficiaries were Fathima Niloofer - II B.Sc Physics, Greeshma AU- III B Sc Zoology, Dinshamol KS- II B.Sc Chemistry, Reshma Joseph III B Sc FCS, Amrutha Davis II BA Economics, Sona Paul II B.Sc Physics.
A video on Rambutan farming was presented by Adv. Babu Joseph on 12th August 2020.
Alumni association organized a webinar on “How to improve immunity by eating healthy” on 15th August 2020. The resource person was Dr. Mumtaz Khalid Ismail, Consultant Clinical Nutritionist, Rainbow Polyclinic, Ernakulam and an Alumnae of Morning Star College. Mrs.K Leena Joseph, Alumni Association coordinator, welcomed the gathering. The session was very useful and interactive. Around 150 final-year UG students were benefitted from the program. Ms. Greeshma A U proposed vote of tanks.
An online alumni executive body meeting was held at 10 am on16th August 2020. Principal Dr. Sr. Rosily A V presided over the function. The meeting appreciated the contributions of alumnae members and decided to strengthen the activities by developing a core team of 10 prominent alumnae from each department.
The alumni association organized a webinar on “Atrocities against women and the legal remedies” on 22nd August 2020. The resource person was Adv. Priyanka Prasad, Assistant Professor, Sree Narayana Law College Poothotta. Adv Anitha K J, Alumni Association vice president welcomed the gathering. The session was very informative and around 190 second-year UG students were benefitted from the programme. Ms. Dona Jose proposed a vote of thanks.
An alumni core team of 70 members was formed by adding 10 prominent alumnae from each department.
Alumni members actively participated in the online Teacher’s Day Celebration organized by the college union and various departments on 5th September 2020 with posters, audio, and video clippings.

The resource person was Ms. Kavitha Krishnan, Casual News Reader Cum Translator, All India Radio, Calicut, and an Alumnae of Morning Star College during 1996-1999. Mrs.K Leena Joseph, Alumni Association coordinator, welcomed the gathering. The session emphasized reliable news sources and the impacts and influences of mass media. Around 130 second-year UG students were benefitted from the programme. Ms. Abil rose P T of II BA Economics proposed vote of thanks.
An online alumni core team members meeting was held on 20th September 2020 at 5 pm on google meet. Ms. MeghaThampy, Alumni Association secretary, welcomed the gathering. Principal Dr. Sr. Rosily A V presided over the function. Prof. Harry Cleetus, Former Principal, St Alberts College Ernakulam was the invited speaker for the day. He explained the different roles of alumnae in their alma mater for the development of the college. Preethi Francis, treasurer of the Alumni Association proposed a vote of thanks.

Alumni meetings of various departments were held and the members really enjoyed meeting their old friends. The date and time of alumni meeting of various departments were Department of Chemistry (3rd September 2020 ), Department of Zoology(5th September 2020), Department of Home Science (10th October 2020), Department of Commerce(14th November 2020) Department of Commerce organizes gatherings on last Sunday of every month.
The Alumni Association contributed 4 solar street lights and 2 garden lights for an amount of Rs.44700/- to the college to promote a policy of green campus and sustainability.
Sherlin Memorial Endowment Prize of Rs. 25000 for best outgoing UG Student was presented to Ms. Sreepriya K S, Dept. of Chemistry for outstanding performance in curricular and extracurricular activities and Rs. 15000 as financial assistance for a meritorious UG student was presented to Amrutha Davis of II BA Economics on 25th March 2020.
